Malcolm Martieau compiled the above program with Susan Graham. It is a
varied program of French songs from the nineteenth and twentieth. It was a
delight to hear. Susan Graham has a beautiful voice that she employs with
dramatic intelligence, individually tailored to each song. Martineau was a
superlative accompanist. The program was interesting throughout.
The two encores were "A Chloris" by
Hahn and Noel Coward's "There's Something Fishy About the French."
The program booklet says that the program was being
recorded for future broadcast on WGBH 89.7 Boston.
