"Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón have just swept Munich audiences away in three sold-out concert performances of Puccini's La Bohème, which were rewarded with standing ovations. The Deutsche Grammophon recording team was on hand for the gala event at the Philharmonie am Gasteig. With additional sessions scheduled before and after the concerts, the recording will combine the frisson of live performance with the advantages of studio conditions.

"Deutsche Grammophon's recording of La Bohème, which is scheduled for release in October 2007, will also provide the soundtrack for a new cinema/TV film of Puccini's opera, starring Anna, Rolando and the Munich cast, to be directed by Oscar-, Emmy- and Venice Festival Golden Lion- nominated Robert Dornhelm."

"Anna Netrebko, the glamorous young Russian
soprano, has canceled her debut recital at Carnegie Hall, saying she's not
ready to perform a solo concert there. 'After much thought, I have asked
Carnegie Hall for permission to postpone my recital on March 2, 2006, to a
future season,' an apologetic Netrebko said in a statement issued
Wednesday by Carnegie Hall.
"'I have sung very few recitals in my career, and I do not feel
artistically ready yet to present a recital program on the great stage of
Carnegie Hall. I know that with more recital experience this will change,
and I feel a strong responsibility to present only my very best at this
